Launch of new website!

The WSMP website is now live! This website is primarily a portal to direct users to country-level WSMP websites and blogs. This website gives an overview of the project and will host details of news and accomplishments of the respective WSMP platforms. Please bookmark this site and check it regularly for updates.

WSMP at WEDC

The WSMP platforms – Ghana, Mozambique and Nigeria will be present at this year's WEDC International Conference to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 18-22 May 2009.

A paper: 'Making use of available water and sanitation data through independent monitoring programmes' will be presented by Yaw Sarkodie, team leader of the Ghana Platform. The paper will be presented on Monday 18 May at 14.00 in Room E.

On Thursday 21st May, the WSMP will host a side-event to be held between 17.30 and 19.15 at the conference venue. Refreshments will be provided. During the side event platform representatives will present the monitoring approach they are piloting. The approach relies on providing independent quality assured data and information that is sector specific to assist in decision making and resource allocation. It also seeks to coordinate civil society to take a more prominent role in sector monitoring. The side-event is designed to be participatory with facilitated discussions. Please come along and share with us your views of the role of sector monitoring and ways in which it can be made more effective.
